Nigerian singers Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay have left the internet emotional over their reconciliation.
The two shared a warm embrace at the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation 2026 graduation, held in Lagos on Sunday, April 27th.
A video circulating online showed Tiwa and Seyi exchanging a friendly embrace, drawing emotional reactions from fans given their history.
The settlement has put to rest their long-standing feud over past issues.
Netizens made comments such as
“Nothing dey this life”, “Things we love to see”, “How sweet I love peace”.
Another noted that the settlement was a sign of maturity between the musicians.
One aribadasha wrote, “This is what the industry should be all about, make peace with each other. Waiting for Davison and WizKid”
The strained relationship between both artistes came to the fore after a 2021 confrontation at a salon in Lagos, where they exchanged words in a viral video.
Seyi Shay spoke about the situation in 2025 during an appearance on the OffAir Show, saying she did not initially understand why their relationship broke down. She later said she got clarity after reconnecting with a former staff member, who admitted to having a relationship with Tiwa Savage’s partner at the time without her knowledge.
Seyi Shay said the revelation helped her understand why Tiwa may have believed she was aware of the situation, which contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
The tension between both singers had built over several years, with industry disagreements and a perceived diss verse during the 2019 Fvck You challenge worsening the situation.
In the same interview, Seyi Shay said she was open to reconciliation and willing to have a conversation to resolve their differences, noting that she held no ill feelings.
Tiwa Savage, also in an interview, said a conversation may be needed to address the issues between them, while denying claims that she tried to block opportunities for other artists.
