Managing director and editor-in-chief of News Central TV, Kayode Akintemi, has been named among the 100 Most Reputable Africans for 2026.
The recognition was announced at a recent ceremony at the Marriott County Hall in London.
The award is presented annually by a coalition of African diaspora leaders and international partners to individuals considered to have contributed to public trust and societal development.
The organisers said the selection is based on reputation, leadership and impact in respective fields.
At the same event, Akintemi chaired a panel session titled, “Sound, Story, and Soft Power: How Media and Entertainment Shape Global Reputation and Public Trust,” which featured participants from media, music, publishing and reputation management sectors.
Discussions focused on the role of media and entertainment in shaping public perception and global influence. Akintemi, who has worked in broadcasting for more than three decades, leads News Central TV, a pan-African news organisation known for its coverage of current affairs, documentaries, and development issues across the continent.
