The Kwara Football Association has appointed sports lawyer Ibrahim Temitayo Abiola as its new Assistant Secretary in a move designed to reinforce the association’s administrative and technical capacity.
Chairman of the FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi, confirmed the appointment, explaining that it followed a recommendation from the association’s board as part of ongoing efforts to reposition the body for greater efficiency and professionalism.
Abiola is expected to work closely with the FA Secretary, Kashim Agaka, particularly in enhancing the day-to-day operations of the secretariat. Abdullahi emphasised that the new role would focus on improving systems, particularly in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), compliance, and overall administrative coordination.
The chairman noted that the decision reflects the FA’s commitment to modernising its structures and aligning with best practices in football governance.
Abiola brings a growing reputation in sports law and administration, with more than five years’ experience spanning governance, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution within the sports sector. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ilorin and was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 2021. He is currently pursuing a Master of Laws degree to further deepen his expertise.
The appointment is widely seen as a strategic step as the Kwara FA seeks to improve service delivery and strengthen its institutional framework.
