The Federal Character Commission (FCC) commissioner representing Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, has declared that job racketeering will no longer be tolerated in the commission, highlighting key achievements recorded in his first 100 days in office.

Addressing a press conference in Ibadan, Abass-Aleshinloye said his administration had taken firm steps to reposition the commission into a more responsive, transparent and impactful institution, stressing that unethical employment practices have no place under his LEADERSHIP.

“We have taken a strong stand against job racketeering, ensuring such practices are discouraged and brought to an end. Under our watch, it will remain a thing of the past,” he stated.

The commissioner disclosed that within the period under review, the commission facilitated 21 federal government employment opportunities for qualified indigenes of Oyo State across various federal establishments.

He described this as a significant step toward ensuring fairness and equitable representation.

He also revealed that the FCC office in Oyo State had undergone a facelift to enhance professionalism, accessibility and the efficiency of service delivery.

According to him, the commission had intensified public sensitisation efforts to educate citizens on its constitutional mandate and principles, thereby improving public trust and awareness.

Abass-Aleshinloye noted that the Commission had strengthened its monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance with federal character principles by institutions, which he said is critical to promoting equity, fairness, and national unity.

He explained that efforts were ongoing to enforce the FCC’s second mandate, which focuses on the equitable distribution of infrastructure and social amenities across all tiers of government, including federal, state, and local levels.

In addition, the Commissioner announced the launch of a digital platform, initiated under the leadership of the Commission’s executive Chairman, Ayo Hulayat Omidiran. The platform, he said, is designed to improve monitoring, reporting, recruitment updates, and nationwide information dissemination.

He commended Omidiran for her leadership and fairness to Oyo State, noting that her vision has strengthened the Commission’s operations across the country.

He also appreciated the support of FCC management and staff in Oyo State, fellow commissioners, political associates, and stakeholders, attributing the successes recorded to teamwork and cooperation.

Reaffirming his commitment to transparency and service, the Commissioner called on residents of Oyo State to take an active interest in the Commission’s affairs, assuring that efforts to uphold justice, equity, and fairness would be sustained.
