Veteran Yoruba actor Dele Odule has opened up about one of the darkest moments of his life, revealing that he once priced his own coffin while battling severe personal struggles.
In a recent interview, the actor said he reached a breaking point while living in Abeokuta, Ogun State, describing a period when his life felt completely shattered and hopeless.
“I had priced my own casket before when everything and my life were in shambles in Abeokuta,” Odule revealed. “I didn’t get myself anymore; I didn’t believe I could break through.”
The respected Nollywood star added that fellow actor Olaiya Igwe witnessed the painful experience firsthand.
“Olaiya Igwe knows about it; I went there with him, and he started crying like a baby,” he said.
Born in Ile-Ife in 1959 and originally from Oru Ijebu in Ogun State, Odule rose to prominence through his performances in Yoruba films, including ‘Ti Oluwa Ni Ile’. Since the late 1980s, he has remained a prominent figure in the Nigerian film industry.
