The Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has dismissed alleged extortion of job seekers.
This is contained in a statement by Isah Jungudo, the spokesman of the board, on Thursday in Bauchi.
He said the board received reports indicating that some individuals were collecting money from unsuspecting job seekers for employment.
Jungudo said recruitment into the service of the board follows proper procedures, adding that “it’s completely free.”
While urging members of the public to be vigilant and report anyone demanding money in exchange for job, Jsngudo charged relevant authorities to act against those involved in the illegal activity.
He also advised job seekers to rely only on the board’s official channels for accurate information on employment.
