The secretary of the APC North Central Zone, Yakubu Muhammed Adamu, has solicited the support of party members to enable him continue the leadership role he began during his first four-year tenure.

In chat with journalists at his residence, he highlighted some of the challenges he encountered during his first tenure as secretary.

Adamu explained that the APC could not boast of sweeping the votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during the 2023 general elections, as the party failed to secure 25 percent of the votes due to the political wave created by Peter Obi’s presidential candidacy.

According to him, even in Plateau State, where the party had hoped to record major success, the situation was not easy. He added that states such as Kwara, Niger, Benue and Nasarawa also faced various political challenges. He noted that the lingering issues in Benue State still require proper resolution.

Despite the challenges in the FCT, he said the party now enjoys greater unity among its members and expressed confidence that winning the 2027 elections would no longer be difficult. He also stated that the Plateau State governor sees joining the APC as his only political alternative.

Adamu, speaking on behalf of other officials of the North Central Zone, appealed for the cooperation of all party members. He urged them to continue embracing one another and work together to ensure the party achieves its goals in the 2027 general elections.
