The House of Representatives has approved the N2.28 trillion statutory budget of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for the 2026 financial year.
The House also approved a total sum of N1.7 trillion for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The approvalsĀ followed the adoption of the Report of the House Committee on Federal Capital Territory and Federal Capital Territory Area Council and Ancillary Matters at plenary on Thursday.
Out of the approved sum, N165.77 billion is for personnel costs and the sum of N378. 23 billion is for overhead costs, while the balance of N1.74 trillion is for capital projects.
Presenting the report, the committeeās chairman, Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara (APC, Borno), called on the House to consider the Report to authorise the issue from the FCT Administrationās Statutory Revenue Fund of the Federal Capital Territory Administration Account:
āThe total sum of N2,285,098,676,153.00 only, of which the sum of N165,775,220,839.00 only is for Personnel Costs, and the sum of N378,231,411,697.00 only is for overhead costs, while the balance of N1,741,092,043,617.00 is for Capital Projects; for the Service of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for the Financial Year Commencing 1 January and ending 31 December, 2026.
Similarly, the House approved the N1.75 trillion Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for the 2026 fiscal year.
Out of the amount, N47.56 billion is for personnel expenditure, N22.35 billion for internal capital expenditure, and N1.63 trillion for the Development Project for the financial year ending 31 December .2026.
