‎Top actress and producer, Funke Akindele, has advised women on the importance of self-care.
‎
‎On her X page, she said that over time, she has learned that taking care of oneself isn’t selfish. From resting to praying, spending time at the spa or salon, to taking care of her mental, physical, and spiritual health, she has learned to prioritise herself.
‎
‎
‎The chart-topping filmmaker noted how women pour so much into others and admonished them to fill themselves up, love themselves, be kind to themselves, and take care of themselves in their little ways. She added that self-care doesn’t always have to be expensive; resting, sleeping, praying, taking a walk, or giving themselves peace of mind is enough.
‎
‎“Self-Care Saturday!!!!!!
‎Over time, I’ve learned that taking care of yourself is not selfish; it’s necessary. From resting, praying, and spending time at the spa or salon to taking care of my mental, physical, and spiritual health, I’ve learned to prioritise myself, too.
‎
‎”As women, we pour so much into others, but you can’t pour from an empty cup. Fill yourself up too. Love yourself. Be kind to yourself. Take care of yourself in the little ways you can.
‎
‎”Self-care doesn’t always have to be expensive. Sometimes it’s simply resting, sleeping, praying, taking a walk, or giving yourself peace of mind.
‎
‎”What are you doing for yourself this weekend?”
