The chairman of Danko Wasagu local government area of Kebbi State, Hussaini Aliyu Bena, has described as untrue social media reports that the state government has anointed Kabiru Tukura as the sole candidate for Zuru-Sakaba-Fakai-Danko-Wasagu Federal Constituency in next year’s election.
While responding to questions from journalists in Birnin Kebbi, Bena said that Governor Nasir Idris, being an honest leader, had given all politicians willing to contest for the legislative seat the opportunity to do so without fear of molestation, contrary to social media insinuations.
The chairman noted that such information emanated from people outside the All Progressive Congress (APC) and those envious of the rapid development recorded by Governor Idris in Zuru Emirate and the state at large, stressing that they would be put to shame during the polls in 2027.
According to him, “talking about Kabiru Tukura as a legislator representing our area is only to praise him, not to blame him. He has provided hospitals, schools, and security outposts to protect the life and property of our people.
“He had shown love and care for us during the days of severe insecurity. It is on record that no politicians presently seeking to contest with him ever visited us during the hard times,” the Chairman said.
He urged all APC stakeholders and the Kebbi State Government to disregard the social media content, stressing that the people of Zuru Emirate remained solidly behind the Governments of President Tinubu and Governor Idris, especially in the next general elections.
