Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, yesterday expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the forthcoming general election in the state and the country with a landslide margin.

This, he said, is possible given the party’s  incredible performance and acceptability at the national and subnational levels.

This is even as thousands of PDP members, led by former PDP governorship aspirant, Dr. Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna were formally received into the APC fold.

Governor Inuwa stated this at the Pantami Township Stadium while addressing APC chieftains, including national chairman of the party, Abdullahi and thousands of supporters at the flag-off of the Gombe State APC campaign rally.

The governor said the APC administration in Gombe State has substantially delivered on its campaign promises, which has so far led to the construction of hundreds of kilometers of roads across the state, the provision of quality and affordable health care services, quality education to the people and putting the State on the path of sustainable economic development among others.

He said in addition to the incredible performance of the APC administration in the state, the structural formation of the party is further strengthened through the massive decamping of some notable PDP stalwarts and their supporters to its fold.

This development , as explained by Governor Inuwa, is not only an indication that the APC is doing well but that the people are satisfied with the party’s political philosophy, hence the record number of decampees from other parties.

“I want to assure you Mr National Chairman that we have delivered on our mandate and the ordinary people in the state are happy with us and we are confident that we shall suppass our last outing at the polls. It is for this reason that I call on APC supporters, especially the contestants to brace up for the political battle ahead,” he stated.

He said with the flag-off of the APC campaign in the state, the stage is now set for politicking to begin and for candidates to market the party across the state based on the APC superlative performance indicators.

Governor Yahaya called on APC supporters in the state to unite in order that the party can deliver a crushing victory in the forthcoming general election.

On his part, the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, described the mass turn out of the people of the state as a clear testament to the leadership ingenuity and political sagacity of Governor Inuwa Yahaya.

He encouraged the governor not to be swayed by the antics of the few, but to be firm and decisive as he goes about administering policies and programmes that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.

Adamu commended Governor Yahaya for displaying uncommon leadership qualities in the formulation and implementation of polices that have meaningful impact on the lives of the people of the state.

The APC national chairman expressed confident that the party will perform excellently in the forthcoming election at all levels.
