On-Screen Intimacy Cost Me My Relationship — Sandra Okunzuwa

Nollywood actress Sandra Okunzuwa has revealed that acting in romantic movie scenes caused the end of one of her personal relationships.

Speaking during a recent interview on the BTS Reality Show, the actress explained that many people wrongly believe that actors enjoy intimate scenes. She stated that having a large film crew watching makes it impossible for the actors to feel any real emotion or pleasure.

“If you have twenty people watching you while kissing in a movie, it is impossible to enjoy it,” she said. She described these moments as strictly professional tasks that are part of the job.

Okunzuwa shared that a former boyfriend broke up with her after seeing a video of her kissing a colleague on set. She noted that it is often difficult for partners of actors to separate what happens in a movie from real life.

“These things affect our personal relationships. For instance, I had to leave a relationship because of this,” she revealed.

The actress added that she would prefer such scenes be removed entirely from movies, as long as the story still makes sense to the audience. She admitted that the demands of the acting profession are hard on private life and said she does not blame people who choose not to date actresses.
