Thirty-year-old politician and All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, Mahmud Sadis Buba, has stepped down and endorsed the member representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, as the APC consensus candidate.
Speaking with LEADERSHIP on Saturday, Buba, popularly known as Abin Al-Aljabin Zazzau, reacted through his personal assistant and secretary, Alhassan Sani, during a telephone interview.
“Sadis Buba has stepped down for the endorsed candidate, who is now the APC consensus candidate for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 elections,” he said.
According to Buba, he withdrew from the race to abide by the decision of APC stakeholders in Sabon Gari Local Government Area.
He added that he consulted party stakeholders and associates before stepping down in the interest of party unity and support for the consensus arrangement.
On Wednesday, the chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Area and Kaduna State ALGON chairman, Hon. Jamilu Abubakar Albani, said in a statement that APC stakeholders met and endorsed Sadiq Ango as one of the party’s consensus candidates in the constituency.
However, Buba had earlier vowed to participate in Saturday’s APC direct primary.
Recall that Buba, a physically challenged politician, gained public attention after appearing before the APC House of Representatives screening committee in Abuja recently.
He was later disqualified over alleged age falsification after his international passport and National Identification Number (NIN) reportedly showed that he was born in 2010, contrary to claims that he was 30 years old.
