The Yobe State Office of the Head of Service has described as false and misleading a social media publication alleging that it issued a release letter providing logistics support to the ICPC office in Borno State.

In a statement signed by the Information Officer of the Office of the Head of Service, Alhassan Sule Mamudo, the office said the document in circulation is “categorically fabricated, false, and does not reflect the reality or operational records of the office.”

The statement noted that at no time in the history of the office had it provided financial support, logistics assistance, or any related payment to ICPC Borno under the circumstances being circulated on social media.

It added that while the office maintains a cordial and professional working relationship with the ICPC and other federal institutions, such engagements are strictly guided by due process, transparency, and institutional ethics aimed at promoting good governance and enhancing public service delivery.

The office urged members of the public to disregard the publication in its entirety and refrain from spreading unverified information capable of misleading the public and tarnishing the image of government institutions.

It reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, integrity, and the discharge of its responsibilities in accordance with established rules and procedures.

The statement further recalled that there has recently been circulation of alleged financial documents purportedly signed by the Office of the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, which has sparked tension in the state.
