Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has shared his thoughts on depression and happiness, stressing that financial freedom does not automatically solve mental health struggles.

The actor made the statement on his X handle while reacting to a comment suggesting that many people who claim to be depressed simply need money.

“You’re not depressed, you need 20 million naira,” an X user wrote.

Responding, Timini said, “It’s not always about money sha.”

His reaction has since sparked conversations online, with many social media users agreeing that although money can reduce certain life pressures, it cannot completely cure depression, anxiety, grief, or emotional trauma.
