Former board member of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), Andrew Aondofa Chila, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ukum State Constituency seat.

The Returning Officer of the State Assembly Primary Election Committee for Ukum Constituency, Emmanuel Terkura Ukula, announced Chila as the winner after polling 24,300 votes to defeat his closest rival, Humphrey Uke, who secured 1,142 votes.

Speaking after the exercise, Chila commended APC members in Ukum for turning out en masse to support him, describing his victory as divinely ordained.

He pledged to provide quality representation focused on driving development and addressing the needs of the constituency if elected in the 2027 general elections.

Chila also appealed to the people of Ukum to mobilise support and vote massively for all APC candidates in the forthcoming polls.
