Phyna Breaks Down, Speaks On Family Strain Over Fame

Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Josephine Ijeoma Otabor, known as Phyna, broke down in tears during an emotional livestream over family exploits and financial distress.

The reason for her breaking down was that a video of her surfaced online while she was working at a local restaurant, prompting her to come out and talk about the reality of life after reality TV fame.

She stated that after winning the ₦100 million BBNaija grand prize in 2022, no one gave her financial advice on how to invest or grow her wealth. Instead, she always put family members first, believing the money would never run out.

During the livestream, she lamented that her family members had become highly entitled, focusing only on how they could benefit financially from her.

Phyna further defended her choice to earn an honest living. She questioned why Nigerians shame service jobs locally while celebrating people doing the same jobs overseas.
