‎
‎The burial plans for the amiable late actor, Alex Ekubo, have been unveiled, with the funeral service scheduled to hold on June 18 at Arochukwu in Abia State.
‎
‎LEADERSHIP reported that the actor died on Monday, May 11th, after a battle with cancer at the age of forty years.
‎
‎In a heartbreaking statement, his family announced that the actor had passed away after a brief but courageous battle. According to the statement, he passed away at Evercare Hospital due to complications arising from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
‎
‎His family, in an Instagram post, expressed gratitude for the beautiful, deeply impactful life the actor had lived. They appreciated the public for the outpouring of love, prayers, messages, visits, calls, support and strength shown to them during their painful period.
‎
‎According to their announcement, a Service of Songs would be held for the actor on Wednesday, 10th June, 2026, with a white dress code. A wake-keep would follow on Wednesday, the 17th of June, and the actor would be laid to rest on Thursday, the 18th of June, in his hometown in Abia State. An Interment and Reception would follow his burial.
‎
‎The announcement reads:
“Forever in Our Hearts 🤍
‎
‎With profound sorrow, yet gratitude to God for a life so beautifully lived and deeply impactful, we officially announce the funeral arrangements of our beloved husband, son, brother, friend, and colleague, Alexx Ekubo-Okwaraeke
‎
‎The overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, messages, visits, calls, support, and strength shown to the family during this painful period has been truly humbling. Words cannot fully express our gratitude. Alexx was deeply loved, and your kindness continues to remind us that his light, compassion, faith, and impact on so many lives will never be forgotten.
‎
‎Though his passing came far too soon, Alexx lived a life marked by love, warmth, generosity, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to God and the people he cherished. His presence filled rooms, lifted hearts, and created memories that will last forever.
‎
‎We warmly invite family, friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers to join us as we honour and celebrate his beautiful life, enduring legacy, and the precious memories he gave us all.
