Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 would translate into more dividends of democracy for Nigerians.

The governor stated this on Saturday while addressing delegates during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries held at Diso Ward in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State.

Yusuf said another term for Tinubu would bring increased development to both Nigeria and Kano State across critical sectors of the economy.

He added that the people of Gwale Local Government Area and Kano State at large had resolved to support Tinubu’s candidature in the forthcoming general election.

According to him, the president has demonstrated capacity in leadership and therefore deserves a second term in office.

“I want you to know that when re-elected, President Tinubu will double the dividends of democracy. By the grace of God, Kano State is going to reap more benefits,” Yusuf said.

The governor described Tinubu as “tested and trusted,” urging party members to remain united ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking during the exercise, Chairman of the Presidential Primaries Committee for Diso Ward, Ibrahim Muhammad-Abdullahi, said the election was conducted through the direct primary system.

He subsequently declared Tinubu winner of the exercise with 5,277 votes.

Governor Yusuf served as state collation officer for the Primaries. He later declared President Tinubu as the winner APC presidential primaries conducted across Kano’s 484 wards in the 44 local government areas.

Yusuf announced that Tinubu polled 500,852 votes, defeating his rival, Stanley Osifo, who scored 2,675 votes.

He said the President would be the party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming general elections.

Gov. Yusuf expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the 2027 elections “from top to bottom,” adding that the ruling APC “has come to stay.
