The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has applauded the Department of State Services (DSS) for ensuring a peaceful, credible and hitch-free conduct of its 2026 National Convention.

The student body particularly praised the director-general of the DSS, Mr Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, and security operatives deployed for the convention.

It said their professionalism, vigilance and operational efficiency helped guarantee order and stability throughout the electoral process

NANS, in a press statement signed by its new president, Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, said the “successful culmination of the just-concluded convention would have been virtually unattainable without the robust security architecture and strategic coordination meticulously deployed to guarantee a seamless, peaceful and hitch-free exercise.

“Going forward, we specially extend profound commendation and credibility to Mr Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, the director-general of (DSS, for his invaluable support, strategic leadership, and firm commitment toward the resounding success of the 2026 Convention,” Afeez said.
