The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has called on Nigerians to use the Eid al-Kabir celebration to pray for peace, unity and credible leadership as the country prepares for future elections.

In a Sallah message to Muslim faithful, the party urged citizens to reflect on the values of faith, sacrifice, obedience and compassion, drawing inspiration from Prophet Ibrahim’s submission to the will of Allah.

The message was contained in a statement issued by the party’s National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle.

Dantalle said Eid-el-Kabir is a period for deep reflection and total devotion to God, adding that Nigerians should seek divine guidance in building a more stable and prosperous society.

“Nigerians should use this Festival of Sacrifice to pray for the nation in this electoral season. Power belongs to Allah, and He gives it to whomever He wishes,” he said.

The party also urged political actors to avoid violence, vote-buying and other forms of electoral malpractice, stressing the need to strengthen democratic institutions and protect the sanctity of the ballot process.

APM further called on governments at all levels to prioritise the welfare of citizens, insisting that leadership must always reflect the interests of the people above partisan considerations.

“The interest of the people supersedes partisan politics,” the statement added.

The party said its “People First” ideology remains its guiding principle, noting that it continues to advocate for governance focused on citizens’ welfare and development.

It cited what it described as its governance philosophy being demonstrated in states such as Bauchi and Oyo, while reaffirming its position as a fast-growing political platform in Nigeria.

APM also restated its commitment to building alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections, calling on political stakeholders to set aside differences and work together for national unity, security and economic progress.
