Abdulsalami, Bago, Etsu Nupe Urge Unity, Peace At Sallah

A former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago and the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, have harped on the need for peace to overcome the country’s numerous challenges.

They spoke after two Rakat (round) of prayers in Niger State with other Muslims to mark the Eid-el- Kabir celebration yesterday.

The former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami who congratulated the Ummah on the Eid-el-Kabir festival prayed that Allah continued to bring peace and prosperity to Nigeria.

He urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love and togetherness and be advocates of peace anywhere they found themselves , to achieve the desired development and growth.

Also speaking Governor Umaru Bago called on Muslims and Nigerians in general to remain steadfast in praying for the overall peace and development of the country.

He called on Nigerians to remain patient with the government as it is working tirelessly to ensure that the citizens have better conditions of living.

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, called on Muslims to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray fervently for the peace and unity of Nigeria.

The Etsu Nupe, who disclosed this in his Sallah message at the Eid praying ground in Bida yesterday expressed optimism that Nigeria would be the ultimate beneficiary of the spiritual lessons from the Sallah celebration.

He said with prayers, the fear of Allah, peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and love, Nigerians would seamlessly work together to harness the abundant resources as a progressive nation.
