AC Milan legend Andrea Pirlo has pinpointed a significant advantage Arsenal possess over Paris Saint-Germain ahead of their UEFA Champions League final showdown.
According to the Italian maestro, the Gunners boast at least three players – Gabriel, William Saliba, and Kai Havertz – who are exceptionally strong in the air, a factor that could prove decisive.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Pirlo explained: “Arsenal have two central defenders [Gabriel and Saliba] and a striker [Kai Havertz] who are very good in the air. They will look to take advantage.” He reiterated this point, emphasising Arsenal’s strategic approach to such situations.
“Arsenal have the ability in these situations because they study it,” Pirlo added, suggesting a deliberate tactical focus from Mikel Arteta’s side. In contrast, he noted PSG’s relative weakness in this area: “PSG does not have these big jumpers, so they will have to look for different solutions.”
Pirlo’s analysis implies that Arsenal’s aerial dominance, particularly from set-pieces, could be a key weapon in their possession.
