Ahead of the 15th August governorship poll in Osun State, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has called for unity and predicted victory for the party.
Oyintiloye, who made the appeal while speaking with reporters yesterday in Osogbo, said bitterness, careless remarks, unguided utterances, and anti-party activities that could jeopardise the party’s chances at the poll should be avoided at all costs.
He also urged the party’s leaders and elders in the state to address every perceived grievance and dissatisfaction among members urgently.
According to him, victory for the APC in the election is non-negotiable, and any factor that could hinder the party’s success should be tackled head-on.
Oyintiloye said it would be a costly mistake for the party to go into the election divided, stressing that unity and a common purpose were essential for victory.
He added that all loopholes and grievances that could prolong the party’s stay in the opposition should be addressed without delay.
Oyintiloye described the party’s flagbearer, Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, as a ‘sellable candidate’ with “capacity to win the election,” adding that all members should support him with all their strength.
