The Oyo State Government has debunked a viral video circulating on social media claiming that pupils, students, and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area have been released.

The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, described the video as false and misleading, urging members of the public to disregard it in its entirety.

According to him, the state government is still actively pursuing discreet interventions aimed at securing the safe release of the abducted victims.

“The viral video about the release of those abducted at Oriire in Oyo State is unfortunately untrue. The state government continues its discreet interventions, which we are very hopeful will yield the desired result soon. We thank all for their patience,” Oyelade said.

He appealed to residents and social media users to avoid spreading unverified information capable of causing panic, confusion, and emotional distress to affected families.

Oyelade further assured that the government, in collaboration with security agencies and other stakeholders, remains committed to ensuring the safe return of the abducted pupils, students, and teachers.
