Nigerian singer, Niniola Apata, broke down in tears while paying an emotional tribute to her late husband, Michael, during his funeral Service of Songs.

The Afrobeat star struggled to control her emotions as she spoke before family members, friends, and colleagues about the man she described as her backbone, biggest supporter, and life partner.

Niniola painted a picture of a beautiful marriage built on friendship, support, and unwavering love, offering the public a rare glimpse into a union she had kept out of the media spotlight.

Recalling their early days together, the two-time Grammy-nominated artist revealed a life-changing promise Michael made to her when they first met. According to her, he confidently declared that he would make her a superstar, a vow she believes he completely fulfilled.

“When he met me, he said, ‘I will make you a superstar,'” Niniola recounted amidst tears. “Michael was my engine. He was the first person I saw in the morning and the last person at night. He did everything for me. He was breathing for me. He loved me so much. I learnt so much from him.”
