The member representing Ohafia South constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Kalu Mba Nwoke, has saluted the governor, Alex Otti for naming the newly reconstructed Abia Tower-Onuimo Road after the late Rev Uma Ukpai.
Nwoke spoke to LEADERSHIP Weekend after receiving the Labour Party return ticket for the the constituency for the 2027 general election in Ohafia, expressing gratitude to the governor for the gesture.
”In my opinion, the honour is not only for the late reverend, his immediate family or Ohafia people, but also the constituency and the Christian world which he served selflessly and tirelessly.
”I feel so excited about the gesture. And I want to use this forum to express my personal appreciation to the governor for it and all the good things he has been doing for the constituency.”
”Should I talk about the recently completed and commissioned Abiriba-Ohafia section of Umuahia-Akara Junction-Abiriba-Ohafia road or the ongoing reconstruction of Ohafia-Arochukwu road?
”What about the new Nmuri and Igwu River bridges, retrofitted health facilities and schools as well as reconstructed and ongoing road projects across the constituency? It has never been this good for us for years,” he said.
Speaking on the ticket, Nwoke thanked the governor, the party, and the entire people of the constituency for the confidence they have reposed in him, assuring that he would not betray the trust.
He said beyond the overwhelming support the people have shown the governor and the party, there was the need for them to demonstrate it further in 2027 by ensuring they voted for the party.
”The only way they can do this is by having their voter’s cards. I’m therefore urging them to use this last window of registration to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards.”
