“I Was Overshadowed By Controversy” — Nkechi Blessing Refocuses On Career

Nigerian actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday, based in America, has said she is working to change how people see her career.

This action follows a comment from a YouTube viewer who admitted they once disliked her but were starting to appreciate her work.

She responded on Instagram. She said she understood the criticism. She also noted that past controversies had often overshadowed her acting talent.

The actress said she has stepped back from online drama. She added that she now wants to focus more on her acting career.

She also said those who once called her a failed actress may change their minds as she continues to release new work.

She wrote:

“I know a lot of you feel like that person up there. No worry na my fault na me use Controversy cover my talent. Na why I slow down on unnecessary drama, but you see, moving forward… all of Una wey call me failed actress for this app? Una must swallow una words… because of the lineup of movies I featured in both YouTube and the cinema? Let me not talk”.
