Chelsea have announced that four players will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of June when their contracts expire, as the club continue its summer squad restructuring.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Premier League side confirmed that Brodi Hughes, Richard Olise, Jimi Tauriainen and Sam Rak-Sakyi will depart after completing their current deals.
Defender Hughes leaves after spending 13 years at the club, having joined Chelsea as an Under-8 player before progressing through the ranks at the Cobham Academy.
Olise, another long-serving academy product, joined the Blues as an Under-9 and represented the club at every youth level. He earned recognition during the 2024/25 campaign when he was included in Chelsea’s first-team squad for a UEFA Conference League trip to Astana.
Finnish midfielder Tauriainen arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2020 and was named among the substitutes for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool in 2024, highlighting his potential despite limited senior opportunities.
Rak-Sakyi, who joined the academy at the age of eight, made four first-team appearances and was regarded as one of the club’s promising young talents.
Chelsea thanked the quartet for their commitment and professionalism during their time at the club and wished them success in the next stage of their careers.
The departures are part of the Blues’ ongoing efforts to reshape their squad and create pathways for the next generation of academy prospects.
