Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as ‘Rudeboy’ of the defunct Psquare music group, has reacted to reports of the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar in the custody of bandits.
The development sparked widespread anger and renewed concerns over insecurity across the country. Reports said Abubakar and his wife, Hajiya Amina Abubakar, were abducted on May 30 while travelling to Katsina State for a wedding.
Reacting to the news, Rudeboy questioned the safety of ordinary Nigerians. He said that if a former senior military officer could die in captivity, it raised serious concerns about the security of the wider public.
In a post via his Instagram story, he wrote:
“Major general with all his training, gallant, strength and endurance in case he finds himself in such a situation. Still kpai of heart attack. If a retired major general fit kpai like that, who’s you?”
