The secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bassa LGA of Plateau State, Hon. Achigak Zachariah, has called on the state government to fix the deplorable road linking the 3rd Armoured Division ( Maxwell Kobe Cantonment) to Bassa LGC secretariat in the state.

Achigak, who made the call while leading party supporters to fill pot holes on the road yesterday, said they were motivated to work the road because of the love of the people, adding that the road is key to movement of goods and the people of the area.

He pointed out that the PDP led government under the watch of Da Jonah Jang  had  awarded the contract for the construction of the road and work was going for eight months before the APC government took over in 2015.

Achigak further said when the APC under the watch of Governor Simon Lalong took over, the road was abandoned,  lamenting that nothing had been done to give it  a face lift .

“We, as lovers of the people deem it fit to sand fill the bad portions of the road to alleviate the suffering of road users . This goes to show that PDP is actually coming back to power come 2023,” he said.

Similarly, Hon. Alex Kudu, a former councilor in Buhit ward, said the PDP was passionate about the progress and development of Bassa LGA, particularly the Kiche axis.

According to him, they have discovered that as a party, the nearly eight years  they have been out of  government practically denied them the opportunity to participate in the process that  would have produced better leaders for the state and Bassa LGA.
