Ahead of the 15 August governorship election in Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke has promised to dutifully implement the 5-point agenda of the Accord party if he is re-elected to a second term.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of his supporters during the flag-off of Accord gubernatorial electioneering campaigns at the Freedom Park venue of the rally in Osogbo yesterday, Adeleke, who assured his supporters that Accord will be on the ballot, urged them to exercise their voting rights to elect their favoured candidate.
He told the gathering that all lawful means are being deployed to ensure that citizens can vote for the candidate of their choice with the assurance that their votes will count.
The governor enjoined the people to go out to all voting units and mobilise for the Accord, because the party remains a duly registered political party in the country, saying that the rule of law must prevail and that democracy must survive.
“Today, we are seeking a fresh mandate under an updated five-point agenda. I promise faithful implementation of the agenda after our victory on 15 August: Youth, women and workers’ welfare; Infrastructure consolidation for economic wellbeing; agro-industrial expansion for human growth and prosperity; affordable health and educational opportunities; and an improved business environment for job creation”.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the party flag to Governor Adeleke, an Accord candidate for the August 15, 2026, governorship election, by the party’s national chairman, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem.
Mgbudem, in his address, charged Osun residents to vote massively for Adeleke to ensure his good works continue.
