Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued seven farmers who were kidnapped during a bandit attack on Gandi community in Rabah local government area of Sokoto State.

A security source disclosed that soldiers of the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, stationed in Gandi, carried out the successful rescue operation after responding to the attack.

According to the source, the troops engaged the bandits and recovered several motorcycles believed to have been used by the attackers during the operation.

The rescue mission led to the safe recovery of all seven abducted farmers, preventing what could have been a prolonged captivity.

However, one civilian reportedly sustained a gunshot wound during the incident as the bandits carried out the attack.

The injured victim was immediately evacuated to the General Hospital in Gandi, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

The source described the operation as a significant success in ongoing efforts to combat banditry and protect rural communities in the area.
