Sule Hails Nasarawa North By-Election As ‘Best Planned’ Poll In Years

Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has described the Nasarawa North Senatorial District by-election as the most orderly and well-organized poll he has witnessed in recent years.

The governor spoke shortly after casting his vote at Polling Unit 002, Gudi Motor Park, on Saturday.

He was accompanied by his wives, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule and Hajiya Farida Abdullahi Sule, who also voted at the same unit.

“As a registered voter, I have just exercised my right. But for me, this is the smoothest it has ever been,” Sule told journalists.

“From BIVAS accreditation to casting my ballot, it took just three to five minutes. Historically, this is the fastest I’ve seen.”

According to the governor, election materials arrived in Gudi as early as 8:00 a.m., with voting commencing between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m.

“Again, this is the best planned election that we have seen,” he added, commending the peaceful conduct at polling units across the district.

When asked if the by-election serves as a litmus test for his speculated 2027 senatorial ambition, Sule dismissed the suggestion. “I don’t see it as a litmus test for me. If you want to put it that way, it is a litmus test for the All Progressives Congress (APC),” he said.

“It is an opportunity for the people of Nasarawa North to say thank you to APC. By the grace of God, we are going to see a ‘thank you’ result.”

The governor further linked voter turnout to appreciation for ongoing development projects. He described the poll as a chance for residents to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for “providing resources used in funding infrastructural development in the state,” and to acknowledge his administration’s achievements over the past seven years.
