The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Railwan Disu, has declared that the Nigeria Police Force will not runaway from the fight against  banditry but will crush notorious bandits. He added that officers will confront criminals as “they face us in Zamfara and across the North-west.”

Addressing officers and men of the Zamfara State Police Command at the Command Headquarters in Gusau during an official visit to the state the IGP described the attack on security personnel as unacceptable, adding that the current security challenge demands unity among all security agencies.

“We shall not run away from bandits, we shall face them as they face us.

“This is not the time for divisiveness, it is the time for collective effort with all sister security agencies to dismantle the hideouts of terrorists wherever they are,” he added.

He charged officers and men of the command to redouble their efforts and commitment to work harmoniously with the Nigerian Army, NSCDC, DSS, Immigration, Customs, and local vigilantes in ongoing joint operations.

To boost operational capacity, IGP Disu assured personnel that the federal government will provide all necessary logistics to support the fight against insecurity nationwide.
