t took five years, a risky surgery, and an army of vocal coaches, but Jon Bon Jovi says he’s back.

The 64-year-old rock frontman, who underwent an operation in 2022 to repair an atrophied vocal cord, has declared himself “fully recovered” and is preparing to return to the stage.

At his lowest, he feared the worst. “There were days I thought I was done,” he admitted.

Now, speaking to the People Magazine, he sounds like a man reborn. “It was longer than I’d ever expected, but it had to be right. We never lost faith,” he said. “I think that this is a rebirth. It is simply about the joy.”

Bon Jovi said he was blindsided by the original diagnosis, insisting he had never mistreated his voice. “I didn’t have any excesses. I’m a trained vocalist. I’ve practiced the craft.”

He reserved special praise for his bandmates, who stood by him throughout without seeking other work or calling it quits. “The sacrifices that each one of them have made to be there for me is on a whole ’nother level,” he said.

The band kicks off their Forever Tour next month with a Madison Square Garden residency, followed by stadium dates across the U.K. and Ireland.
