A serving member representing Sakwa Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammad Wanzam, has died on Sunday morning.

Until his death, Hon. Wanzam served as chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation.

The sad development was announced on Sunday by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Sulaiman.

According to a statement issued by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, he described the late lawmaker as a committed public servant who served his constituency and the state to the best of his ability.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Sakwa Constituency, Hon. Mohammad Wanzam,” the statement read.

The terse statement added that the funeral prayer for the deceased lawmaker would be held later on Sunday at the Gwallaga Juma’at Mosque in Bauchi by 11:00 a.m.

The Speaker prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the late Hon. Wanzam shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
