No fewer than 1,000 youths are expected to participate in the 2026 skills acquisition and  entrepreneurship training programme organised by a religious organisation, Glorious Destiny Family Church, Borokiri, Port Harcourt.

The training programme tagged, “Borokiri Skill-Up” is targeting young people residing in the Rivers State capital, including members and non-members of the denomination.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP Sunday, the lead pastor of the church, Pastor Akeem Idoniboye, said the training programme, which will commence on July 20, is aimed at keeping the youths, especially students, busy during the forthcoming long vacation.

Idoniboye also stated that the programme, which will run until the end of August 2026, is in partnership with a non-governmental organisation, Perfect Kelvin Foundation (PKF).

“As we approach the long vacation and knowing that students will be home for long, the intention is to help young people with required skills to meet everyday needs.

“Our primary target is our community, the vicinity of the church. If others come from far too, we will accept them,” he said.

It would be recalled that since its inception more than a decade ago, the Glorious Destiny Family Church, popularly known as Destiny Chapel, has been involved in human capacity development, free medicals and other corporate social responsibilities including repair of roads within its vicinity.
