The Yobe State Government has signed contracts for the execution of three major road projects as part of ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure, boost economic activities, and enhance the movement of people and goods across the state.

A statement issued by the Information Officer of the Ministry of Works, Abubakar Maikau said the contract signing ceremony held last week at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Works in Damaturu, where the Commissioner, Engr. Umar Wakili, signed the agreements on behalf of the state government.

The projects include the repair and asphalt overlay of the Kaliyari-Bayamari Road, awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited; the reconstruction of the Tetteba-Gulani Road with a seven-kilometre spur to Garin Tuwo, awarded to Elegance Construction Nigeria Limited; and the completion of a seven-kilometre asphalt overlay on the Damagum-Gubana Road, awarded to EEC Nigeria Limited.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umar Wakili, said the projects are part of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s sustained investment in critical infrastructure aimed at opening up rural communities, improving connectivity, and stimulating socio-economic development across Yobe State.

The commissioner noted that the roads were carefully selected to address transportation challenges, facilitate trade and agricultural activities, and strengthen access to communities across the affected areas.

Engr. Wakili stated that the state government remained committed to ensuring that all projects are executed in line with approved specifications and completed within the stipulated timeframe to achieve the desired impact.
