Nigerian singer-songwriter, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known professionally as ‘Burna Boy’, has set a new record on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart. The achievement sees him move ahead of fellow Nigerian star Tems.

The Grammy winner now holds the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries by an African artist. Before now, both singers were tied with eight entries each.

Burna Boy claimed the record after earning a new Hot 100 entry through “Dai Dai”, his collaboration with Shakira. The song debuted at number 75, increasing his total entries to nine.IMG 2536
