Asake  comes First Artiste To Hit 180 Weeks On Spotify Top 10

Nigerian Afrobeats musician, Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has set a new record on the global streaming platform, Spotify.

His debut studio album, Mr Money with the Vibe, has officially become the first music project in history to spend 180 weeks on the Nigerian Spotify Top 10 album chart.

Data released by the streaming platform on Tuesday showed that the 2022 project surpassed all previous records for longevity on the domestic music chart.

The statistics also revealed that Asake holds the top two positions on the longevity index.

His second studio album, Work of Art, occupies the runner-up position, having spent 157 weeks on the same Top 10 chart.

The data indicates a growing trend in the consistent consumption of contemporary Nigerian music on digital streaming platforms, as local audiences sustain engagement with older catalogue releases alongside newer musical projects.
