The chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has appointed a former councillorship contestant, Hon. Loveth Izekor, as special adviser on Women Affairs.
The appointment of Izekor, founder and convener of Loveth Izekor Foundation (LIFE), was conveyed to her in a letter from the chairman.
The new special adviser, an advocate for women empowerment and community development, aspired to contest the councillorship of City Centre Ward under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Commenting on her appointment, she said her expertise “has been honed through training at the Centre for Leadership and Strategic Development.”
The appointee is also the founder of Young Ladies in Politics, a nationwide non-governmental organisation (NGO) that provides leadership mentorship to younger women leaders.
With a strong background in the banking sector, she brings a unique blend of business acumen and leadership expertise to her new office.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration and an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration.
Friends and associates who congratulated Izekor said her appointment was well deserved, expressing confidence in her competence and experience, and adding that she would perform as expected.
“She will bring her wealth of experience in effectively amplifying the voices of women in the Council,” they said.
