The Adamawa State Government has announced that the new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp in Malkohi, Yola South Local Government Area, will be completed and commissioned in October this year.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri disclosed this during an inspection visit to the ongoing project site, expressing satisfaction with the quality of work but urging contractors to accelerate the pace of construction to meet the completion deadline.

The governor said the new orientation camp would provide a conducive environment for corps members posted to the state and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing all ongoing projects within the stipulated timeframe.

To ensure timely delivery of projects, Governor Fintiri directed that all ongoing government building projects must have their roofing completed by July this year. He further stated that the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp must be fully completed by September to enable its commissioning and use for the October orientation exercise.

According to him, November has been set as the deadline for the completion of most ongoing projects across the state, while all newly commissioned projects are expected to be fully handed over by March next year.

Governor Fintiri assured contractors that the government would continue to provide the necessary funds to address rising construction costs, stressing that the administration expects quality work and value for money in return.

“I will personally visit the site every fortnight to monitor progress and ensure taxpayers are getting true value for money,” the governor stated, reiterating his administration’s resolve to deliver projects on schedule and leave no abandoned projects behind.
