SABER Programme: 3,000 Zamfara Businesses Have Received Grant – Deputy Governor

The Zamfara State government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening the business environment and supporting entrepreneurship stressing that over 3,000 businesses have received grants totaling billions of naira under the World Bank-supported SABER Programme.

The Deputy Governor, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi who spoke yesterday at the implementation of the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) held at Dr. Garba Nadama Hall, J.B. Yakubu Secretariat, Gusau , said Governor Lawal’s administration is focused on reforms that will attract private investment and drive economic growth.

Mani told stakeholders that Zamfara has embarked on strategic reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business and attracting private sector investments.

He added that the SABER programme covers critical areas including land administration, regulatory reforms, private sector investment in fibre optic infrastructure, public-private partnerships, investment promotion, tax administration, and the business regulatory environment.

“These reforms are designed to remove bottlenecks, reduce the cost of doing business, and make Zamfara competitive for investors,” the deputy governor stated.

He said the administration has strengthened key institutions responsible for business facilitation. These include the Zamfara Geographic Information System, ZAGIS, Zamfara Urban and Regional Planning Board, Zamfara Investment Promotion Agency, Zamfara Internal Revenue Service, Zamfara State Water Corporation, and the Vehicle Inspection Unit.
