AXA Mansard Insurance Plc has replaced physical vehicle assessments for many motor insurance policies with a digital inspection solution developed in partnership with insurtech firm Curacel.

The new tool enables customers to complete required vehicle inspections remotely by submitting photographs of their vehicles through their smartphones, eliminating the need for physical inspections in many cases.

The digital inspection process applies to the initiation of comprehensive motor insurance policies, policy renewals and claims assessments.

According to the company, the innovation underscores its commitment to simplifying and personalising insurance services through technology-driven solutions.

Under the system, images submitted by customers are automatically reviewed and analysed, with inspection reports generated and integrated into AXA Mansard’s existing underwriting and claims processes.

Speaking on the development, Chief Technology Officer, AXA Mansard Insurance, Chizuru Nwankwonta, said the initiative is aimed at making insurance transactions more convenient and efficient for customers.

“At AXA Mansard, we continue to introduce solutions that make insurance processes easier and faster. This digital inspection option reduces the need for physical assessments and offers customers more flexibility in how they complete key steps in their motor insurance journey,” Nwankwonta said.

The digital inspection platform was developed in collaboration with Curacel, an insurance technology provider whose platform supports image submission, automated screening and documentation processing.

The integration forms part of AXA Mansard’s broader strategy of leveraging external technology partnerships to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer experience across its insurance offerings.
