The Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FEDPOLEL), Ondo State, has organised a one-day sensitisation programme on the implementation of the electronic appraisal (e-appraisal) system for the 2026 Annual Staff Review Exercise.

According to a press statement by Sanmi Enigbokan, Deputy Registrar, Information, Protocol and Passages, the programme, held recently on the institution’s premises, brought together academic, senior non-teaching and junior staff members.

Speaking during the interactive session, the Registrar, Mr Gabriel Adeyemi Awe, disclosed that the management had approved the deployment of the e-appraisal system for the forthcoming annual staff appraisal exercise.

He explained that the sensitisation programme was organised to acquaint all members of staff with the new platform and its operational procedures.

According to the Registrar, the e-appraisal system is a paperless platform designed to safeguard appraisal records, reduce administrative costs, shorten the appraisal cycle and ensure secure long-term storage of staff records.

He urged members of staff to embrace the innovation with an open mind, noting that the cooperation and commitment of all stakeholders would be essential to the successful implementation and sustainability of the system.

Earlier in his address, the Rector, Dr Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, represented by the Deputy Rector, Dr Samson Adehugha Omogbehin, underscored the importance of the e-appraisal system in modernising the institution’s performance evaluation process and enhancing administrative efficiency.

According to him, the introduction of the electronic appraisal system would facilitate objective, transparent and timely performance evaluation by enabling staff and supervisors to complete appraisal activities online, monitor performance indicators, provide feedback and generate reports with greater accuracy, efficiency and convenience.

The Rector further highlighted the key benefits of the system, including improved operational efficiency, enhanced transparency and accountability, faster feedback and decision-making, reduced paperwork and administrative costs, as well as improved monitoring of staff development and institutional performance.

During the practical session, the Assistant Registrar, Personnel Affairs Division, Mr Ayodeji Daniel Olugboyega, demonstrated the features and operation of the e-appraisal platform.

He informed participants that access to the system would be granted exclusively through staff members’ official institutional email addresses via the Polytechnic’s website.

During the interactive session, participants recommended that the implementation timeline should be sufficiently flexible to accommodate all users and that identified technical issues should be resolved before full deployment to ensure seamless operation.

Management assured participants that all observations and recommendations would be duly considered to guarantee the effectiveness of the system.
