The Union of Concerned Academies (UCA) has commended the federal government for complying with and adopting the official list of approved higher educational institutions.
It said the schools were validated and transmitted by the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education in the Republic of Niger.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja, Dr Ayanlola Ayanyimika, the chairman of UCA, said the decision demonstrated the federal government’s unwavering commitment to preserving the integrity, credibility and international reputation of Nigeria’s educational system.
He said it further reinforced the government’s resolve to ensure that only qualifications obtained from duly recognised and quality-assured institutions were accorded official recognition within Nigeria.
Ayanyimika said the inability of certain institutions to appear on the official list of approved higher education institutions in the Republic of Niger was a clear indication that they fell short of the minimum requirements for accreditation, quality assurance, institutional governance and academic infrastructure.”
” In view of this development, we respectfully advise graduates of institutions whose names do not appear on the approved list not to engage in media propaganda, misinformation, or scandalous attacks against officials of the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. Ayanlola Ayanyimika said.
