‎Veteran Nollywood actor Bob Manuel  Udokwu has spoken about his late colleague, Mr Ibu and the realities of Nollywood.

‎In an interview, he said life is generally easier for females than their male counterparts in the industry. He stated that it isn’t about payment but rather about the responsibilities of men, as they have many bills to settle.

Bob said he was hurt by the death of his colleague, Mr Ibu, as he recalled how people were dragging them while they were trying to raise money for the late actor’s treatment.

‎The veteran said people on social media don’t understand the realities of their profession. He also expressed shock that the late actor had more than one wife.

Similarly, Rita Edochie said the late actor didn’t do well, and no matter how the public tries to sugarcoat polygamy, it is one of the greatest marital errors that have jeopardised the peace, unity, and harmony of countless families. She said the public disagreements over his property and other issues have been heartbreaking for her to watch.

Two weeks ago, Mr Ibu’s wife, Stella and her kids, while speaking to influencer King Mitchy, lamented their plight, revealing that they now fetch water from a well because she hasn’t been able to pay their house rent. She said their light has been cut off for two months, and they have to rely on others to charge their phones.

Speaking out, one of Mr Ibu’s sons with his previous wives disclosed that their late father left many properties to all his children, but Stella chose to take everything for herself and her own children. He further claimed that she squandered over N66 million that the public had contributed during Ibu’s illness.

‎Backing him up, Ibu’s alleged first wife claimed that even after his death, Stella sold the house in Enugu for about N18 million. The first wife added that after Ibu’s burial, Stella and her group took all the money and went on a spending spree.

Responding to his claims, Stella, in a follow-up interview with King Mitchy, denied his allegations. She stated that before she sold his property in the village, she consulted with the late actor’s other children, and that the proceeds from the sale of the land were used to foot the bill for his funeral. She added that throughout her marriage to the late actor, he never disclosed that he had been previously married or that he had fathered children with other women.
