The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADS), Osun State chapter, has endorsed the governorship ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, while calling for a peaceful electoral process across the state.
The endorsement came during a special prayer and interactive session organised in honour of the APC flag bearer, where leaders of the Islamic organisation described Oyebamiji as a longstanding member of the society with a record of integrity, humility and public service.
Speaking on behalf of the society, the Osun State secretary of ADS, Alhaji Akande Ola Hafiz, said Oyebamiji enjoys the support of members because of his commitment to the organisation and his track record in public office.
He noted that although the Society remains non-partisan, it has a responsibility to encourage and pray for members seeking leadership positions.
“Oyebamiji is one of our own. He was born and nurtured within the Ansar-Ud-Deen family, and we are proud of his achievements. We will continue to support him with prayers for wisdom, protection and success,” Hafiz said.
He described the APC candidate as a peace-loving leader, philanthropist and devoted Muslim whose previous roles as managing director of Osun Investment Company Limited (OSICOL), commissioner for finance and managing director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) demonstrated competence and integrity.
Also speaking, the national president of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Prince Musedik Kazeem Adeniji (SAN), represented by the national vice president, Justice Moshood Adekunle Adeigbe (rtd.), commended Oyebamiji’s contributions to the growth of the society and prayed for a peaceful and successful election.
Responding, Oyebamiji thanked the Society for its confidence in his aspiration and pledged to run an inclusive, transparent and people-oriented administration if elected governor.
He urged religious leaders and residents to continue praying for peace before, during and after the election, stressing that peaceful coexistence remains essential to the state’s progress.
The APC candidate also appealed to eligible voters not to sell their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing the cards as a powerful tool for determining the future of the state.
“Our PVC is our power. Don’t sell it for any reason. Use it to vote for the future you desire. I assure you that I will not disappoint the people of Osun if given the opportunity to serve,” he said.
Oyebamiji, who recalled that he was born and raised within the Ansar-Ud-Deen family in Ikire, said his upbringing in the society shaped his values and commitment to service.
He promised to prioritise security, workers’ welfare, education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, commerce, power and justice, while ensuring transparency and accountability in government.
The event was attended by leaders and members of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society from across Osun State, as well as senior APC officials and members of the party’s governorship campaign council.
