The Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA) has announced the commencement of the 2026 FCT FA League, with fixtures released for all four groups ahead of the opening matches scheduled for 13 July.

The competition will be staged at the Area 10 Old Parade Ground and the Area 3 Playing Ground, where participating clubs will battle for honours over the coming weeks.

FCT FA Secretary, Alhaji Usman Ilerika, confirmed that all logistical and administrative arrangements had been concluded to ensure the smooth organisation of the league.

He assured participating clubs that the association would uphold the highest standards of professionalism throughout the competition, stressing that every team would compete on a level playing field.

“The FCT FA is committed to organising a league that reflects the highest level of professionalism. We assure all participating clubs of a level playing ground throughout the competition and urge every team to exhibit discipline, respect for the rules and the spirit of fair play,” Ilerika said.

The association also called on clubs, players, coaches and match officials to uphold the values of integrity, sportsmanship and mutual respect, noting that football development in the Federal Capital Territory can only flourish in an atmosphere of fairness and discipline.

The 2026 league will feature 24 clubs divided into four groups, with each team competing in a round-robin format during the group stage.

The opening day on 13 July will see Group A fixtures at the Area 10 Old Parade Ground, with Zuko FC taking on Sofae FC, Gwarinpa FC facing HB FA, while Fine Trust FC meet Defence FC.

At the Area 3 Playing Ground, Group B will get underway with Maracana FC against Basic FC, FHA FC taking on Royal FC, and Makinz FC facing Abees FC.

Action in Groups C and D begins on 14 July, with fixtures spread across both venues. The group stage is scheduled to conclude on 24 July, when the final round of matches will determine the teams advancing to the next phase of the competition.

The FCT FA expressed confidence that this year’s league would provide a platform for emerging football talent across the nation’s capital while strengthening grassroots football development.

The association also urged football enthusiasts across the Federal Capital Territory to turn out in large numbers to support their clubs and contribute to the success of the competition.
